Those are the words heard throughout the day on June 7th, 2014. "Aroo, Aroo, Aroo" we yelled before taking off up Brimacombe Ski Hills. For those of you who ski and have had the pleasure of gliding down the lovely hills, you will understand the feat that Fit2Go's team "Got the Runs" had in front of us. We trained hard and felt ready, but standing at the bottom of that hill became a mental challenge. As the team captain, I had one fleeting moment of weakness where I let doubt creep in. "Can I even make it?" In typical fashion, I crushed that lie with "My body is as strong as my mind is, have faith!" My team made me proud, each of us contributed our strengths to accomplish the 15 obstacles with the 5km + Hill climbs together in a grand total time of 2 hours and 11 minutes. Now this wasn't just one time up the hill, it was numerous times if I can recall, 8 total (including the descent).
I also must say we came home with no injuries and very little soreness. Half the team even met for our usual workout on Sunday in 'celebration'. Well done team!
I would like to leave you with a question. Have you contemplated doing something like this? Can I go on to ask why you haven't?"
We always have room for more, and we're a super friendly bunch. We are currently training for our next event, the "eXtreme Warrior" (Sept.21, 2014.)
Take the Challenge and say "Yes" today!
